Our 5 Day Explorers will take us through the rolling and rugged landscape of the Western Uplands of Algonquin Park. Our journey will start at Magnetawan Lake where we will also spend our first night. This is a recap off all the skills and backcountry ethics that former campers have learned in our Ventures camp in previous years. For those joining us for the first time, this is a great introductory to canoe tripping on this small but beautiful lake. Day 2 we will head deeper into the park through our first network of portages and into the breathtaking expanse of Ralph Bice Lake. By Day 3 we are now starting to get into the rhythm of our natural means of travel while rising and setting with the summer sun. Our hard work will be rewarded by lots of free time to explore the distinct ecosystems, trails and waterfalls that surround the headwaters of the mighty Petawawa River. Fishing, swimming and journaling around our campsite are never out of the question at the end of a long day on trail. Our last night will be spent near Little Eagle Lake where we will recount and embrace the once in a lifetime journey we have accomplished together. We will complete the full circle of our journey on Magnetawan Lake where we began those very few days ago and have one last floating lunch before the long ride back to Luna.
